WHAT IS THE STAF F INTERNSHIP?

The Staff Internship is an 18-month long staff internship for those interested in diving deeper into their relationship with God while learning valuable skills for life and ministry work. You will work in both Ministry and Logistical areas of our centre throughout their time on this course as well as attend weekly Development Sessions to aid in their personal and professional growth. This internship is an accredited program through the University of the Nations and the Australian Qualifications Framework.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE.

During your time on the Staff Internship, you will have a chance to serve in various ministry roles. This could include staffing DTS or SWAP schools, joining other ministry teams, serving in The Prayer Room, etc. Serving in ministry can be a challenging and rewarding experience that can lead you into a deeper relationship with and understanding of God.

We believe God values and honours those who serve behind the scenes (John 13:14-17). At YWAM Toowoomba, you'll find even our long term staff and leaders serving the base in practical, day to day needs. As an intern, you'll also have the privilege of serving our community in the practical needs of YWAM Toowoomba in one of our backbone ministries. Some areas you may serve in are: Kitchen, Hospitality, Media, Maintenance, and Administration.

Development Sessions

GET EQUIPPED FOR MINISTRY.

Although much of the training is done with an on the job' approach, students also attend weekly training sessions with training en topics such as: Living like Jesus, Working in Teams, Evangelism, Biblical Worldview &Incorporating Worship and Prayer into Ministry. By learning from many experienced YWAM leaders as well as respected members of the ministry community, we are confident these that these sessions will give you the tools to thrive in life and ministry.

Who is the Staff Internship for?

YWAM Toowoomba's Staff Internship is for you if you: 1) want to grow deeper in your relationship with God, 2) want to learn valuable and applicable leadership skills, 3) want to apply yourself in full time ministry, or 4) feel called to missions and want experience in sustaining that lifestyle.

What visa will I need?

Visa’s are required for most students who come from overseas. Email admissions@ywamtoowoomba.com to get the details of the visa you will need.

When does the Staff Internship start?

We have staff intakes starting January, April, and July each year.

What credit do I get for completing the Staff Internship?

On the completion of your Staff Internship you will receive a Certificate IV in Christian Missions with the AQF VET-accreditation in Australia as well as credits for the University of the Nations, School of Ministry Development CHR 241/242.
