A space centred around the presence of Jesus and ministering to His heart. Giving Him our full attention through engaging in worship & prayer.
What is the Prayer Room?
The Prayer Room is a space that encompasses Matthew 21:13 and Isaiah 56:7, that God’s house is to be called a house of prayer for all nations. We feel a call to build the house of the Lord in the city of Toowoomba and we are doing this by consistently engaging in worship to God and prayer for our city specifically, during every hour-long Prayer Room Session.
We long for this to be a space where God is glorified and His people come together in unity to minister to His heart and bless His name. This space is centered on using worship and prayer to engage with God. We want it to be a place where distractions, worries, and work is set aside, and Jesus gets the full attention he deserves in this room.
Heart & Vision
The heart and vision of The Prayer Room is to be a space centered around the presence of Jesus, where people from all walks of life can enter in and focus their attention on Jesus. We want to align with Psalm 27:4 and be a people who longs for God in such a way that we enjoy being at His feet, dwelling in His house, gazing on His beauty, and connecting with Him through prayer.
Our Values below really exemplify what we are all about, and go deeper into the heart of The Prayer Room.
Ministering to the Lord.
This is our primary focus and our main goal. Ministering to the Lord means worshipping without condition and pouring out our adoration and affection to Him. (Psalm 27:4, Luke 10:42)
Giving Jesus our undivided attention.
This looks like fixing our eyes and hearts on Him, and choosing to move past distractions, cares, or worries, in order to fully spend time in His presence. (Mark 12:30, Matthew 22:38, Psalm 27:4)
Partnering with the Holy Spirit.
This looks like listening and obeying God’s direction, partnering with what He is doing in The Prayer Room space, and opening ourselves up to the Holy Spirit’s correction and refinement. (John 14:15 & 23, Psalm 133:1-3, Psalm 139:23-24, Psalm 66:10, 1 Samuel 15:22, Psalm 51:10)
Knowing God through Scripture.
Reading the Bible helps you to know the character and nature of God, and His will and ways. (Psalm 119:13-16, 2 Timothy 3:16-17)
Creativity and free expression of worship & prayer.
God delights in everybody’s expressions of worship and prayer and The Prayer Room is a space where you can freely pour out your affection to God in whatever way you would like to. (Ephesians 5:19, John 4:24, John 12:3)
Prayer for the city of Toowoomba and the nations.
We want to align with what is on God’s heart, and pray from that place. We desire to see the city of Toowoomba transformed and for worship and prayer to overflow from the city to Australia and the nations. (Psalm 132:3-5, Isaiah 2:2-4, 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Isaiah 56:7, 2 Chronicles 7:14)
